Science Technician • Permanent, part time (25 – 30 hours/week) school term time position • Strong collaborative & supportive environment

We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic Laboratory Technician/Manger to join our office science faculty.

The candidate will have the following essential attributes:

  • Qualification in Science, preferably at tertiary level
  • Preferably Experience as a Laboratory Manager;
  • Excellent people skills, with students and staff
  • Accuracy, adaptability, and the relevant experience of working as part of a team, within a busy environment
  • Critical thinking and effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective systems
  • Confidence in working autonomously and/or within a team environment

Tasks & responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and sometimes assisting with experiments and class practical’s;
  • Tidy Laboratories;
  • Ensure hazardous substances are stored, handled, used, and disposed of appropriately
  • Ensure that information on hazardous substances is available e.g., safety data sheets, risk assessments
  • Represent the Science Faculty on the Health and Safety Committee
  • Order, maintain and repair equipment.
