Our highly-qualified teachers provide a world-class curriculum in a supportive and inspiring learning environment. Our rangatahi enjoy a safe and culturally diverse learning environment that develops their intellectual, emotional and social potential.
Nelson College offers multiple curriculum pathways tailored for boys.Â
Our junior curriculum offers a balanced curriculum with some flexibility with option courses for students to try areas of interest that they may wish to take in the senior school. The senior curriculum offers a wide range of subject choices, from which students gain credits towards the National Certificate in Education Achievement (NCEA).
Students are supported in their studies by their teachers and Faculty Leaders, as well as Deans, Careers staff and Learning Support Co-ordinators.
Nelson College Online Course Selection for 2025 will open on Wednesday 7 August.
Course Selection Evening – Tuesday 6 August 6-8pm
It is time for our students to start thinking about their course selections and pathways for 2025 and beyond. As these are important decisions, we will be running a Course Selection Information Evening on Wednesday 26th July from 6-8pm.
The evening provides an opportunity for our students and their whanau to meet with key staff members to help them make informed decisions.
Throughout the evening Faculty Leaders, Specialist Teachers and Deans will be available in the Hall to provide information and answer questions. In the Library we will also be hosting three presentations that students and whanau are welcome to attend:
6.15pm – Pathways for those considering University (Year 12 and 13 students) in the Library
6.45pm – Introduction to NCEA (Year 10 students) in the Staffroom
