Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care
The mental and physical wellbeing of our students is paramount. Students must feel safe and supported to be ready to learn.
The college provides outstanding pastoral care to the young men of Nelson. We run a peer support programme that is especially targeted at supporting our new Year 9 students at the start of each year.
We employ two guidance counsellors, social workers, careers counsellors, and five Deans across the year levels to support our young men. The college also works closely with community support agencies to further support our students in and beyond college.
In Boarding, students are closely monitored and supported by the Housemasters and other staff, with regular communication home to parents and whānau.
