On behalf of the Nelson College Board I am pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Dykes to the role of Headmaster.
Richard is currently Principal at Glendowie College in Auckland. He knows the Nelson region well, having taught as Head of Business at Waimea College from 1997-2005.
An experienced Principal who has worked at a variety of schools throughout New Zealand, Richard will bring a fresh perspective to the College balanced with an understanding and appreciation for our culture and heritage.
Last year Richard was the recipient of a Woolf Fisher Fellowship that allowed him to visit high-performing schools in North America and the UK, as well as attend a course at Harvard Graduate School of Education in Boston.
Prior to teaching Richard worked in the commercial sector.
We are finalising a start date. The Board looks forward to welcoming Richard and his family to Nelson.
